Introduction from the Chair, Garth Jones
Welcome to our website which joins our Facebook page, brochure and the Festival What’s On at The Waterside Arts website.
As you know our main purpose is to raise money for local charities, something we were unable to do last year as we lost money but kept the Festival flag flying despite the Covid restrictions. Come and join us and help us be successful this year. However bad things are there are always people less fortunate, and what better way to support them than by enjoying yourself at our events.
In addition to our venue, the Waterside Arts centre (tickets from the Box Office), we have this year put some events at The Rugby Club in Heywood Road where you can move around, have a drink and dance at our Ceilidh and other events. Tickets for these are on Eventbrite online and easy to buy.
And do not forget the many events put on by others to mark our Festival : musicians in the Square, the canal barge procession, in church halls and other places and the events in the parks, especially the Lions Family event on Father’s Day.
This year’s Festival is dedicated to Pat Coulburn, our President, who sadly passed away recently. Remember her and support the local festival as she did, especially at the concert in her memory.
